The previous poster had suggested that the wife give the patient the drug but the patient was tubed and vented and probably being fed via a feeding tube; the nurses would at minimum have to assist and teach the wife how such a med is done and then, in light of the court order, turn their backs and pretend they didn’t see the wife give the drug. The IV version still would require the assistance of the staff to help the wife give the drug intravenously. It would have to be mixed at minimum in a syringe for IV pushes but some drugs need to be given more slowly via a bag and tubing. Since the staff has to do what the hospital says, they couldn’t assist or allow the wife to do the treatments(unless their backs were turned).
Clearly, the attending physician does not have full status at that hospital. I wonder how difficult it would be for a doc who has full porivs, to assist the attending physician? What is wrong with the hearts of the doctors who have full access at that hospital? What has ‘medicine’ come to?++++
