Australian PM Takes Private Jet, Fails to Quarantine While Citizens Remain Under Lockdown
Summit News ^ | 7 September, 2021 | Paul Joseph Watson

Rules for thee but not for me..

While locked down Australians are being told they shouldn’t even talk to their neighbors, Prime Minister Scott Morrison reportedly took a private jet to visit his family in Sydney and then failed to quarantine upon returning to Canberra.

“After receiving an ‘essential work exemption, Mr Morrison flew over Father’s Day weekend to Sydney in New South Wales on Saturday, before returning on Monday morning to Canberra. Critics say he made the trip to see his family, something fellow Australians were prevented from doing,” reports the Telegraph.

Both Sydney and Canberra are under draconian lockdowns, with people only being allowed to leave their homes for ‘essential’ reasons and citizens prevented from traveling significant distances, although those rules don’t appear to apply to Morrison.

Under normal COVID-19 rules, Morrison should have been forced to undergo two weeks quarantine upon his return to Canberra, but the PM “did not enter quarantine, instead conducting face-to-face government business.”

Meanwhile, Aussies were prevented from seeing their own family members on Father’s Day.

“I think Mr Morrison has exercised poor judgment in this case … It’s not that he doesn’t deserve to see his kids, but so does every other Australian,” said opposition MP Bill Shorten.

Australia has imposed the most brutal lockdown in the developed world, with citizens being told they shouldn’t engage in conversations with each other even while wearing masks.

As we highlighted yesterday, authorities in Victoria, Australia have announced they will “lock out” unvaccinated people from being able to participate in the economy.

New South Wales health chief Dr. Kerry Chant also asserted that COVID will be with us “forever” and people will have to “get used to” taking endless booster vaccines.

This is a hit piece that the left wing media has come up with to attack a conservative politician.

I’m frankly disgusted to see this socialist propaganda shared on FreeRepublic.

Hypocrisy is actually a career-enhancer these days, especially for leftist politicians.

Are you saying that he didn’t violate the diktats?

'How is it fair?' Outrage as Scott Morrison is granted a permit to fly between Canberra and Sydney on a taxpayer-funded jet to spend Father's Day with his family

Ah, he got permission!

Well, that's all right then, eh?

The Prime Minister has no power to lock anybody down. Unfortunately Australia's constitution gives power over these issues to the state governments, not the Federal government. The Prime Minister has spent most of the last year and a half trying to get state governments to avoid lockdowns except as an absolute last resort. He has no power to stop them, however.

He was staying in Sydney (which is where he normally lives) when he was required to fly back to Canberra for a meeting that for reasons of national security could not happen anywhere else. He did this and then flew back to Sydney after the meeting.

Since 2001, when Prime Minister John Howard was trapped in the United States after the September 11 attacks (he'd been visiting the US for ceremonies surrounding the 50th Anniversary of the ANZUS Treaty), it has been the policy for practical and security reasons that Prime Ministers always travel by Royal Australian Air Force aircraft - John Howard had travelled to the US on a commercial Qantas flight which is why he was stuck there when all commercial traffic was grounded (the USAF eventually flew him home). Yes, it's expensive to do it this way but it's done for very good reason.

Back during the 1918 Pandemic, there were Mask Huns (this was in the days before the Nazis) everywhere running our country. That ended when a bunch of them were pictured at a boxing match in San Francisco unmasked. They were so shamed that Mask mandates ended.

Now the Mask Commies just don't care.

He didn't break any rules. A variety of exemptions exist to cover things that are regarded as essential travel.

Wow.

That’s breathtaking hypocrisy there, mate.

Seems to me if the great unwashed can’t do it, neither should their bloody PM.

Actions speak a lot louder than words.

It is obvious the elites know this is a scamdemic.

If the virus is so deadly, he would have acted like the virus was deadly.

He acted like the virus was harmless—I believe his actions, not his words.

He got the same exemptions other Members of Parliament, and essential public servants can get.

MPs, in particular, are expected to travel between their constituencies and Canberra - they have duties in both their electorates and in Parliament.

This is a right guaranteed at a Federal level under Section 92 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Because the Constitution only applies to Federal law (except when explicitly stated otherwise) the High Court has ruled states can place restrictions on people in general terms, but that cannot apply to travel which is explicitly regulated by Commonwealth demands. That includes Members of Federal Parliament because of their specific duties under Commonwealth law.

The Democrat politicians who attended a funeral in Georgia refused to quarantine upon returning to their home states, in violation of their own diktats.

Of course, Governor 'Nursing Home Killer' (NHK) Cuomo was one of them.

I have always seen a very close parallel between the Climate Change movement, and this Covid vaccine/shutdown/mask movement.

It is all based on fear, and it is fed and fostered at the behest of a tyrannical government with the cooperation and collaboration of a willing and compliant Media.

When I see douchebags like Obama, Gore, and the various and sundry celebrities and politicians who on one hand, scream in panic we only have 11.3 years left before we are doomed to an overheated planet with coastal areas being flooded and have to act now to save our coastal areas, yet on the other hand buy up $11 million dollar beachfront property, it tends to make me mighty skeptical and suspicious.

In the same way, when I see Leftists across the board from politicians and government employees to entertainment types crying out on one hand that we must stop the deadly pandemic, wear masks, not work, not drive, not fly, not go to school or parties, not go to barbers or hairdressers, not go to church services or funerals, and then on the other hand, do ALL of those things (except go to Church) including huge parties of unmasked people, flying in on polluting jets (THEIR characterization, not mine) to attend at beachfront properties they say are in danger of disappearing under rising oceans, well...it is very difficult for me not to link one to the other.

And it doesn’t stop there.

There is the Religious aspect. These are universally people who, like the Communists described by Whittaker Chambers in his book “Witness” who strive to replace God with Man. In this, their movement acquires a religiosity that has all the terrible parts of organized religion they profess to hate, specifically, the casting out and shaming of heretics.

How I despise those people.

He is the Prime Minister. Yes, this does give him some special rights and privileges so he can do his job.

This includes the right to travel freely across the country that he is the elected leader of.

He is not subject to the restrictions of laws made by state governments.

If he was, it would allow a state government to exert undue powers because it would be the Premier of a state would be able to limit the movement of the nation’s Prime Minister.

And it’s not hypocritical because the Prime Minister isn’t the one locking people down.

The Prime Minister has spent most of the last year and a half trying to stop the state governments locking down all the time. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the constitutional authority in this case. The state governments do.

Why would you expect him to observe rules he doesn’t agree with and he would not have imposed if it was his choice?

One Australian offers his analysis on life there now:

“What’s going on in Australia? Covid is Communism, a system of total govt control.”

Truly outstanding 3 minute video.
Nobody ever said it better. I wish there was a written transcript. Please share to the max.
