That graph is a bit deceptive. There was a very short downturn, and then a long bit reflecting the absence of data on Labor Day was tacked on to it.
I agree you need to be careful about data from the past week or two. Data may be lagging coming in, may be incomplete or may have reporting errors. We’ll know more in the next week to month.
