According to the exit polls, Trump got 12% of the black vote last November, and this was considered a good showing. Many of us here on FR and elsewhere saw the possibility he would attract 30% of the black vote.
I think Trump was well on pace to make an historic breakthrough with black voters, but then came the George Floyd incident and the non-stop barrage of painting Trump as a racist. Indeed, the Democrats have their plantation well under control, with very few blacks escaping the group mentality.

I have heard Trump got over 20% of black men’s votes. Among black women, they were almost unanimous for Biden. But it’s with black men that Trump made some headway.
If any Republican could get 30% of the black vote, would Democrats ever win another presidential election?

Good points. I would add that George Floyds’ death was just one of several ‘racial incidents’ that were part of an organized media distortion campaign commanded by the DNC. They’d attempted this in every election campaign since Reagan in an increasingly desparate effort to keep black Americans voting for democrats.
