“Harris had to step in to break the tie and get him approved.”

Not true. He was approved by the Senate on April 27, 2021 by a 49-45 roll call vote. Below is a link to the official U.S. Senate vote. Harris did not cast a vote since there was no need to brake a tie.

“what form will the USA take when he is gone?”

**************

Whatever form the Democrats want. they could care less about the Constitution or laws. They also know the GOP won’t lift a finger to stop them from doing what they want.

if we had a real political party fighting for us maybe things would be a little different.

Biden’s Pick for Top Pentagon Post Is Former Aide Who Pushed Garbage Steele Dossier to Damage Trump

By Jim Hoft June 14, 2021
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/06/lying-hack-gets-promotion-bidens-pick-top-pentagon-post-former-aide-pushed-garbage-steele-dossier-damage-trump/

Dr. Colin Kahl is an unhinged lunatic who pushed the Steele Dossier to damage President Trump.

Kahl defended the Obama regime’s decision to buy off the Iranian terror regime with billions of dollars for a weak nuclear deal. The Iranian regime then spent the dollars on funding terror groups in the region.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) destroyed Colin Kahl for being wrong on EVERY major decision on war and peace.

So it only makes sense that the Biden-Obama regime would promote him to a top Pentagon post.

The Washington Examiner reported:

President-elect Joe Biden’s pick for a top Pentagon post has a lengthy Twitter history of defending British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s discredited dossier and promoting allegations of Trump-Russia collusion.

A statement issued on Wednesday said Colin Kahl, a former deputy assistant to President Barack Obama and national security adviser to then-vice president Biden from 2014 to 2017, was announced as Biden’s nominee for undersecretary of defense for policy, along with Kathleen Hicks picked as deputy defense secretary. Biden said Kahl would “help lead the Department of Defense with integrity and resolve” and “safeguard the lives and interests of the American people.” He currently works as co-director of Stanford’s Center for International Security and Cooperation and as a strategic adviser at the Penn Biden Center.

“I know how hard the professionals in Policy work every day to keep America safe,” Kahl tweeted in response to the announcement. “I would be honored to lead this great organization and work with Kathleen hicks and Lloyd Austin to strengthen DoD!”

Reports emerged in 2018 that Kahl was targeted in a “dirty ops” effort seeking to discredit the Iran nuclear deal, with claims that the Israeli private intelligence agency Black Cube was hired by Trump aides to find damaging information about him. Black Cube responded by saying that it “has no relation whatsoever to the Trump administration … or to the Iran nuclear deal.” Kahl tweeted at the time that “Black Cube’s dodge is not credible.”

But Kahl’s talk about Russia is what underlay some of the biggest controversies during the Trump presidency.

The 2018 book Russian Roulette by journalists Michael Isikoff and David Corn said Kahl was part of the small Obama national security team inner circle working on Russian interference issues in 2016. “Kahl had to insist to [national security adviser Susan] Rice that he be allowed to attend so Biden could be kept up to speed,” they wrote.

Every GOP voter who stayed home and/or didn’t vote in the Senate elections is to blame for this.

************

I get your point and it has merit. However, many people see voting for the GOP as pointless. The party pols say one thing and then do the opposite. Or worse, they resist the agenda of a president THEIR OWN voters put in office.

Its hard to get motivated to vote for such deceitful people. Just saying.

the GOP should look in the mirror to see who ruined America, and then commit ritual suicide for their evil sedition and treason

See my tagline.

Colin Kahl opposed sanctions on IRGC, condemned killing of Iranian terror chief

Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee are meeting privately on Tuesday morning to discuss their growing policy concerns about Colin Kahl, President Joe Biden’s nominee for undersecretary of defense for policy at the Pentagon, according to sources close to the committee.

Kahl, a former Obama State Department official, was a key architect of the Iran deal and has been at the forefront of a number of controversial moves, including, reportedly, the decision to remove a statement affirming Jerusalem as Israel’s capital from the 2012 Democratic National Convention platform.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) was the first member of the Senate Armed Services Committee to publicly oppose Kahl’s appointment on Monday, according to Politico, citing serious disagreements on policy.

But other Republicans have privately voiced similar objections and are looking to plan out their next steps ahead of Kahl’s scheduled confirmation hearing on Thursday.

“Republicans have concerns about Kahl and want to discuss amongst themselves the seriousness” of the issues at the closed-door 11 a.m. meeting, one source told the Washington Free Beacon.

Republicans are closely eying Kahl’s background and expect to raise a number of their disagreements during his hearing, which “is going to be sporty, to say the least,” according to the source.

Kahl, who has also served as Biden’s longtime foreign policy adviser, was one of the Obama administration’s most vocal advocates for the Iran deal and a staunch opponent of tougher U.S. sanctions on Tehran. He wrote a policy proposal for containing a nuclear Iran in 2013, arguing that the United States “would likely be forced to shift toward containment regardless of current preferences” if Iran obtained nuclear weapons.

In 2017, Kahl opposed a bill to sanction the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which carries out Iran’s global terrorism operations, arguing that the United States already had the ability to sanction individual IRGC members. The legislation was “gratuitous” and “a symbolic gesture to basically rub it in the nose of the IRGC,” he said.

Kahl also criticized the Trump administration’s targeted strike on Iranian terror chief Qassem Soleimani last year, calling it “an overt act against perhaps the second-most-prominent official in Iran.”

“From an Iranian perspective, the assassination is the equivalent of another country taking out the director of the CIA, secretary of defense, and shadow secretary of state all rolled into one,” Kahl said, arguing that the attack was likely to prompt reprisals from Tehran.

Kahl has spoken at numerous events hosted by the National Iranian American Council, a group that has been accused of lobbying for policies supportive of the Iranian government and has attempted to broker meetings between Iranian regime officials and U.S. lawmakers.

While some of us see it as actively harmful.

"Five R’s didn’t vote."

As pointed out in this article, two Republican senators were absent for family emergencies, including one funeral.

On April 22, 2021, the Senate voted to invoke cloture (limit debate) on the nomination by a vote of 51–50, with all Republicans in the Senate agains the motion, requiring Vice President Kamala Harris having to break the tie on the motion.

On April 27, 2021, Kahl was confirmed by a vote of 49–45, with many GOP Senators absent.[1] He was sworn in the following day by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.[27]

He is essentially a Leftist academic who has shuffled back and forth between academia and government/political posts. When Biden was Vice President Kahl was his National Security “advisor”.
