Abortion: The Animating Sacrament of the Left

The Texas abortion law and the reaction to it has shone a spotlight on the fact that abortion is the primary animating force for the left, a sacrament of a sort that drives both their priorities and energy.

The celebrity crowd had the Taliban on their mind and rushed to see who could make the most absurd comparisons. The craziest of these takes argued that women in Texas had it worse than those living under the Taliban, whose idea of a woman’s right is the right to be killed by a male for violating his sense of honor.

That great thinker of yesteryear, Dan Rather, noted that “the same people attacking the Biden Administration for leaving women’s rights behind in Afghanistan are eager to control women’s bodies and choices in the United States.” Last I checked, the criticism directed at the administration was about leaving Americans behind but such distinctions get lost on the “fake but accurate” crowd.

Consider the reaction of the false conservatives who rushed to obscurity during President Trump’s Administration.

The always noxious Bill Kristol tweeted out a quote from an article in something called The Bulwark by Jonathan Last that read, “The pro-choice movement makes many arguments which I find unconvincing. But one thing they have always said is that pro-lifers really just want to control women’s bodies. And part of me thinks that this is probably right.”

The pure slanderous insanity involved in that sentiment is staggering. I’ve never known a single pro-life American, many of whom are women, who cares one bit about control over a woman’s body, but every one of them has a profound respect for the sacredness of life and believe in protecting the most innocent lives.

I find it interesting that people who are most adamant about protecting the killing of the unborn under the trope of “My body my choice” are the same people who want to force the skeptical to be injected with an experimental gene therapy

The pro-choicers don’t give a hoot about “women’s bodies.” They want to make sure that the human body gestating inside the woman makes it out alive.

On the other hand, the Left wants to control everybody’s body (and mind).

Ending the role of women as mothers has become a key to understanding leftism. The idea is to use abortion to make children a choice, and not a gift from God. Women have been “liberated” to be workers first, and if they have kids, mothers second. Then when the birth rate falls, we need unlimited immigration for cheap labor. The irony is that our new immigrants come from more patriarchal cultures than outs, polygamist Muslims being the most opposite to modern Western society.

Pass it on—Biden’s immoral slide on abortion:
* Biden: 1977 & 1981: Votes AGAINST Medicaid funding of abortions for victims of rape and incest
* Biden 1994: “The government should not tell those with strong convictions against abortion, such as you and I, that we must pay for them.”
* Biden 2008: “[I am] prepared as a matter of faith to accept that life begins at the moment of conception.”
* Biden 2012: “Life begins at conception, that’s the Church’s judgment. I accept it in my personal life. But I refuse to impose it on equally devout Christians and Muslims and Jews, and I just refuse to impose that on others ...”
* Biden 2019: “I announced that I could no longer continue to abide by the Hyde Amendment.”
* Biden 2021: “I respect those who believe life begins at the moment of conception ... don’t agree, but I respect that.”
