I am always suspicious about stuff like this, especially when it comes from Wapo/ABC news.
Look, it's early in his first term. He just suffered a screw up of monumental proportions. No sense trying to prop THAT up. So they go the other way. Report the lowest ratings possible. But there is still time. Give it a year or so, just before the midterms. THEN report tremendous approval numbers. The new 'Come-back Kid'!
Yeah, I am that cynical.

If there’s a terror attack in this country by illegals from Mexico or Taliban who snuck in, or stranded Americans killed in Kabul, he’s toast. Gone. And the likelihood of those happening are high.
