I’m inclined to agree with you, but even veterans aren’t always immune to the corrupting influence of the Swamp. Stirling character is what is needed.

They have been a mixed bag. Some of them are liberal Democrats (Tammy Duckworth), and some are the worst of Republicans (Adam Kinzinger).

Many Republican Vets are interventionist McCain types. And Democrat vets are insufferably sanctimonious. I would prefer an entrepreneur.
