I think the big lesson here is don’t throw money at a problem thinking it fixes it

Just how much of the billions we poured into Afghanistan ended up in contractors and US Politician’s pockets instead?

I read that almost the entire amount of the $750 billion spent in Afghanistan went to American interests: contractors, NGO’s, volunteer groups, etc. We spent 3/4 of $1 billion dollars on women’s studies classes or some such gender studies.

I used to think that the only jobs for grievance studies majors were as government bean counters or teaching required courses in colleges. I’ve since learned that they are jobs for running programs in places like Afghanistan.
