"The Army itself – the army and the police forces were a mirror image in many ways – and we created and developed forces that looked like Western forces," Milley explained. "I think one of the big lessons learned here is maybe those forces were not designed appropriately for the type of mission."
The general, who spoke to Fox News at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, said the fall of the Afghan government occurred much sooner than officials had expected, despite thorough planning in the withdrawal of U.S. forces.
"The collapse of the Afghan army happened at a much faster rate and [was] very unexpected by pretty much everybody," he said. "And then with that is the collapse of the Afghan government."
"Afghanistan has always been a very difficult issue," he later added

Whose responsibility was it in planning for the entire war effort. Why is this parade general still employed?
I wonder if Milley understands how bad, with each word he utters, he makes the military/political class look.
Well, general….who was in charge of the training???
I think the big lesson here is don’t throw money at a problem thinking it fixes it
Just how much of the billions we poured into Afghanistan ended up in contractors and US Politician’s pockets instead?
They have huge staffs to be prepared for any eventuality.
He failed miserably, he should resign in shame,
Lessons learned,...seriously. Its going to be a killing field and you gave them the names of those to hunt down you evil stupid SOB.
Well for one thing it’s hard to have an Army when 3/4 of them are high all the time.
Unfortunately, that is how the federal government solves most problem.
All this little creepy fag has is hindsight because that’s where his head is.
” the big lessons learned here is “ milley and the boiz are not only incompetent, they also have an alternate agenda.
.
Milley: “ ‘My Bad! Hey what are you going to do, right? Boy, who could have seen that coming? You can bet, I won’t do that again!
The good news is, I had an Afghan Cut and Run Ribbon made and I’m awarding myself one tomorrow! Of course, those dead soldiers don’t get one, they didn’t run.”
The Crusade in Afghanistan was doomed to failure due to no effort to exterminate Islam in country.
The real possibility of that happening should not have surprised professional military people.
He was also asked “are we safer today?”... He said that he foresees terrorists becoming stronger within a year.
“Not designed properly”
I’ll say. They weren’t schooled in woke. They weren’t taught how to understand white rage. They weren’t taught how to root out white extremism from their ranks. They probably didn’t even have any CRT training. I doubt they read any of Milley’s recommended Marxist book collection. Worst of all, I doubt they even have maternity flight suits.
No wonder they were useless.
We kept them occupied for 20 years and avoided major attacks on U.S. soil.
The next 20 years won’t be as peaceful here at home.
They abruptly and without warning withdrew our air support - what did they expect to happen? That was like pulling the rug out from under their feet. Biden Admin didn’t even make adjustments after observing the way things changed on the ground and just watched the chaos grow...and grow...and grow.
When you take the training wheels of the kid’s bike, you keep an eye on them and help them until they are able to adjust and ride fully without them. Then they can adjust on their own and survive on their own.
Biden abandoned them and broke our (the US’s) word. Period.
“Lessons learned”? Any buffoon would know that a chaotic, abrupt withdrawal would be a total disaster.
I hope when these bastards hit us again WHICH THEY WILL I hope they start with DC and level the whole damn place!!!
