They might if things stay calm. But lets say that Biden pulls the trigger on a drone strike on the territory of Afghanistan. I think we might be treated to an internet video showing the execution of 1 or more Americans. Might be difficult for the media to ignore that.
And this is the thing: Any president ordering the evacuation of American citizens would need to take extraordinary steps to make sure he got everybody out, regardless the timetable. If you didn’t, and you claimed ‘everyone is out’, you’re practically begging your enemy to prove otherwise.
