Their Ice Cream machine needs to be cleaned every night removing the ice cream mix from the mixer and then turning it on for cleaning cycle. When they don’t clean the mix out 1st, it gets jammed and they have to call their specified vendor to repair. Wendy’s doesn’t have this problem cause they clean theirs.
The machines are complicated, have to be disassembled to clean and people arent really trained how to put them back together. And the company charges an arm and a leg to send out a rep. And he’s busy at another McDonald’s doing a 3 hour job a nightshifter was supposed to do right last night.

I had always heard they were made from recycled plastics?
And no cows were involved.
But they taste OK.

Now that the FTC is starting to ask questions, don’t be surprised that McDonald’s seriously considers going to a different supplier for their ice cream machines, probably the same one that Wendy’s uses. McDonald’s is facing a multi-billion class action lawsuit over this issue.
That’s why we go to DQ. They could not afford to have their ice cream machines go down for any length of time.

Long ago, 1950s-1960s, as you approached the Illinois/Wisconsin line HUGE signs selling OLEO MARGARINE!
IIRC THE SALE OF margarine was illegal in Wisconsin.
That changed to only selling margarine WITHOUT any color and you had to mash a color pill and mix it yourself!

That reminds me, they are now doing the final checkout of the snowblower and snowmobile... any day now...
Hurray! President Ice Cream has direcred the corrupt DOJ to look into it.
