Aug 31 (Reuters) - Taliban forces clashed with militia fighters in the Panjshir valley north of the Afghan capital Kabul on Monday night, losing eight killed, a representative of the main anti-Taliban opposition group said.
Since the fall of Kabul on Aug. 15, the Panjshir has been the only province to hold out against the Taliban, although there has also been fighting in neighbouring Baghlan province,,,

True that. If we were going to leave behind weapons, it’s a pity we didn’t leave them someplace the resistance could make use of them rather than the Taliban. Of course, if in the short run the resistance forces turn out to be better fighters than the Taliban, maybe they’ll be theirs sooner or later anyway.
