If there’s one thing you never want to do it’s disappoint the lead Children of the Corn monster. Greta Thunberg is waiting for you to act…in a way she approves of…by giving a third party, unrelated organization your money. Seriously, that appears to be the logic behind this week’s absurd entry in stupid liberal fundraising emails.
Under the sender name “Greta Thunberg’s Warning,” the left-wing group 314 Action Fund sent the die warning with the subject line, “the Gulf Stream could collapse.” Who knew we were so close to the destruction of the world and it all hinges on whether or not you give some radical money-grubbing group your cash?
That’s kind of what you’d have to believe if you give this group money. In a hysterical opening filled with bolding and color text, they write, “BREAKING: Climate scientists warn the Gulf Stream is on the verge of collapse; Would have catastrophic implications This is the equivalent of the planet’s fire alarm going off and it should be a global wake-up call.”
Without going into the why or how of this disaster, they simply move on. Liberals don’t need things explained to them because they don’t question what they’re told, they simply accept.
Next comes what is supposedly the basis of the email, one of two pictures of Greta with random, disconnected quotes from her. The first reads, “Some people make it seem as if we're not doing enough to stop the climate crisis. But that's not true. Because to not do enough you have to do something, AND THE TRUTH IS THAT WE ARE BASICALLY NOT DOING ANYTHING!” And yes, they went crazy with the caps lock, I didn’t.
They are allegedly collecting 10,000 signatures to “demand Congress make addressing the climate crisis a TOP priority.” Who knew it was so easy to get Congress to act? Makes you wonder why they didn’t simply pass an eviction moratorium rather than whine and complain that the Biden administration should just impose one.
Of course, getting Congress to do anything, even when you control it, is easier said than done. “We could pass a pro-climate infrastructure deal AND a green budget without a single Republican vote,” they insist. “Yet we just heard that a handful of Democrats want to STRIP climate-related funds and green energy provisions from both deals. We cannot allow them to negotiate down or compromise our future. Our window to act on climate is passing and the potential collapse of the Gulf Stream — which would upend the livelihoods of hundreds of millions — should be a wakeup call.”
Pathetically and curiously, 314 Action Fund then quotes a Thunberg tweet, “Many now ask 'What will it take for people in power to act?' Well, it will take many things, but above all it will take: MASSIVE PRESSURE FROM THE MEDIA AND MASSIVE PRESSURE FROM THE PUBLIC.”
Rather hilariously, their email ends with “We did not work tirelessly to flip the House, Senate, and White House just to negotiate with ourselves out of addressing the existential threat facing our country and planet.”
Conformity is demanded and it must be given. There really isn’t any dissent on the left on any issue that matters, but “solving” a problem doesn’t make it easy to run on it in the future. How can you motivate people through fear if you’ve taken care what you’ve been conditioning them to fear? Who will do your bidding to stave off the end of the world if the actions you swear will stave off the end of the world have already been taken?
When you click their “petition” link they toss in “Big Oil & Gas spends hundreds of millions of dollars each year to lobby against climate legislation (far more than the NRA!)” They must really be desperate to throw one boogeyman under the bus so they could create another one that might bring in a few more dollars.
Weird how they seem so desperate for money they even downplay the NRA as a “threat.” There’s nothing any of these groups won’t do for a dollar, even take the horns off the devil mid-fight and place them on the head of another. At least until they need them back where they were – it’s not like we’re dealing with honest people here. Then again, we’ll all be dead when the “Gulf Stream collapses” anyway, so it’s probably best to not give your money to left-wing groups and maybe just buy some good booze instead.

Some will even pay her to make them feel bad, but that high wave of mass influence she was riding is very likely over. Even Al Gore sorta went out of style a few years past his lie packed documentary.
I can’t hate Greta now. She has mild Aspergers disorder and has been abused by her parents.

Global warming is the new Western religion, and Greta is its Joan of Arc - ie, a disturbed adolescent girl who has visions.
According to various polls I’ve seen, climate change is so far down on the list of the average man’s worries that it is not even worthy of consideration. None of their predictions on this stuff are ever seen coming true.
