Worse insanity is these same whining people are spending that and more per night (3 night min.) at vrbo rentals.
Just like medical insurance!
I lived in Austin 1992-2000. Loved every minute of it but we lived in NW Hills. Totally different at the time.
YEOUCH!
Property prices, and rents are skyrocketing in areas that people are fleeing to. In addition, since we’re living under an illegitimate government printing funny money like mad, property becomes a safer place to park money.
Yep. There’s a ton around us. Homeowners jumped on the vrbo bandwagon in order to pay property taxes and now it’s become a nice income. I’d be too afraid they’d burn the house down or sue for slipping in the shower.
Look at GA and their push to import hollywood. GA is a statist hellhole around ATL these days.
To be fair have you tried property in Letterkenny?
Yup, the liability is too much for me to consider - especially with the way people are so inclined to blame everyone but themselves for all of life,s woes.
Property taxes and insurance are way up too...
Property values go up - taxes right along with ‘em. Insurance is higher because building supplies inflated under Biden - along with the cost of replacement and repair.
There are other areas of town that are cheaper. Of course your support of defunding the police may be a problem in those areas. But what the hell. Give me Socialism or give me Death is pretty redundant.
Where are you at? I’m right behind the Tom Thumb on Dalrock.
But yup, bought the house 3-4 years ago for ~$240M, and houses in the neighborhood have been listed between three and four. I’d say it’s nice, but buying a new house will eat up all that extra $$ anyway :/
Meelyons and Meelyons :) !!
Remedy: Increase the supply of private rental housing relative to its demand. This requires (1) more liberal zoning and (2) housing regulation that lets landlords charge market rentals and does not treat then as class enemies.
The eviction moratorium and exceedingly high property taxes are partly to blame.
The town Letterkenny is based upon, namely Listowel, is in one of the hottest areas of Southern Ontario, when it comes to rent prices, and lack of housing availability. It’s within (far) commute distance of both Kitchener-Waterloo (Ontario Tech Triangle) to the Southeast, and Bruce Power (which just went on a large hiring spree), to the Northwest.
>>You work for the dial an argument call center?<<
I could be arguing in my spare time.
What a great system...Punish the majority because of a few and never lose a dime. Did you ever happen to notice the insurance companies never lose? Ever seen the corporate headquarters of some of these massive insurance corporations? It’s looks like where wealthy sultan$ would hold their cash.
massive rent increases were an inevitable part of the massive cost increases for new housing construction brought about by the biden inflation ...
