A Stanford University professor who claimed parents' opposition to mask and vaccine mandates is caused by their 'whiteness,' has been accused of racism.
Hakeem Jefferson, a black political science professor at the California university, tweeted on August 17, when he claimed the protests are inspired by 'whiteness,' while applying the same logic to the January 6 Capitol riots.
'Whiteness is the most pressing threat to the nation that isn’t climate change,' one of Jefferson's tweets read.

Hakeem is using the “be less white” narrative to chide parents for objecting to having their kids suffocated all day in school. Be less white means be more submissive. The left hates opposition to their oppressive policies.

Hakeem ... the name is Arabic. The Arabs took about as many black slaves from Africa as the Europeans did. Yet, there is no genetic trace of these black slaves in the Arab world. They were worked to death. In contrast, the black slave population in this country increased five fold by the time of the civil war. About 800,000 were imported from Africa (in many cases indirectly, from the Caribbean) prior to the ending of the slave trade, and there were about 4.4 million at the time of the Civil War. In the world’s history, the conditions of slavery has varied from time to time, and from place to place, until a great abolitionist movement that started in Great Britain culminated in the outlawing of slavery during the late 19th Century. Thank God for that. But, to associate yourself with the Arabs to protest the legacy of slavery in this country, would be like associating yourself with the Vikings to protest the legacy of rule by the Romans. Only a person whose ignorance of history is exceeded by his hatred of white people would associate himself with the Arabs to protest the legacy of slavery in this country.

I received my PhD in political science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and African American Studies from the University of South Carolina. My research focuses primarily on the role identity plays in structuring political attitudes and behaviors in the U.S. I am especially interested in understanding how stigma shapes the politics of Black Americans, particularly as it relates to group members’ support for racialized punitive social policies.
