Actually it was criticism of Stalin’s conduct of the war in a letter to a friend that did him in. Solzhenitsyn also got in trouble for advocating a different type of government which was a big no-no according to the Soviet criminal code.
You can’t, but I’m betting that the retention NCO in every unit is going to be quite bored in the coming weeks and months. And if they end up being serious about the shot and the troops don’t get it, there’s going to be a lot of folks turning in their gear.
Ft Bragg has 57,000 troops of various MOSs. Home to the 82nd, Special Forces and Delta Force, to name a few.
If half of that 800k said NO and were booted from the military, you’re looking at closing 7 bases, at least. That’s a lot of folks.
Maybe that’s the plan all along. Decimate the military so we have no one to fight, fly the planes or steer the ships.

I signed as a kid Regular Army Infantry under POTUS Reagan,served under Bush,Clinton and later under Obama in the NG. I never felt the rage that I feel now where our military is going and utter contempt in this CIC.

I think that is the plan.
Namely, uniformed personnel and military retirees are prohibited from disrespecting senior government leadership (e.g. the President, Vice President, Congress, Secretary of Defense, Service Secretaries, etc.).
As a military retiree, I do not believe this applies to me.
