Secondly, providing separated military have no other Active Reserve or Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR)obligation, they are also free to say what they will. Of course, some military occupations sign "non disclosure" papers regarding specific national security secrets/matters.
My supposition is those on the media know they are no longer subject to the UCMJ nor any "non-disclosure" agreements. I could be wrong about all the above being out of service for so long.
