There's a solution to that. "Pods", where participants have pooled their resources together to hire accredited teachers who teach at a centralized location, like at a participant's home, where they can drop their kiddos off at just like they would at one of the government indoctrination centers. I imagine in time lefty legislatures if not the feds will make moves against this sort of education, legislating it to be illegal somehow or another.

Nope, it's not. Necessity is the mother of invention, and people can think their way out of a fix when they apply themselves. Where is there to run to anymore that doesn't have some sort of cultural, economic, political issues going on. Best to remain in a familiar area amongst friends and family and make your stand there with them.

Under the steadily deteriorating economic conditions the window is closing if not closed to do such a thing for many folk, if it was even an option for them. Simply not feasible for some to try and scout out a place to move to that has any housing available to begin with, and be able to move themselves and their stuff halfway across the country. The hassle and expense grows more daunting with each passing day. And even if you get to a "red" state, there is no guarantee you will find escape and peace. Communistas are popping up in the most surprising places and people have difficulty in figuring out how to even fight them. Then it's like being back in California, Illinois or some other tyrannical jurisdiction, as if they never left.

I wasn't planning on finding escape and peace. I just know that it WILL be hell where I am now. As I'm certainly not going to go to a blue area in Florida, I'm guessing that I will experience a little less hell.

Central Maryland, where I am now, WILL blow up. The part of Florida where I'm going, maybe not so much.

In Florida, the state government may have my back. In Maryland, it will definitely not.

You're definitely among the fortunate that could pull such a move off. When it comes to weighing options, yes, you gotta do what you can for you and yours to get clear of the blast radius of a urban hellhole. Housing in an area is the issue - where I am at, there is nothing. Nothing to rent, maybe something to buy if you have the buck$ and can jump through the ever tightening hoops of the steadily wary lending institutions. Families who have been building their own have been mostly putting up little crackerbox homes on whatever lot they can scavenge up, no matter how bad the location setting. Not the nice big brick American dream homes of years gone by, but little 1000+ sq foot or so wood frame jobbies with vinyl siding. Kinda reminds me of the 1950's-1960's off-base military housing of the Cold War. Only commercial builders or people with big $$$$ are building homes of any size now with the expensive materials.
