I spent an unforgettable 10 days from the beginning of April onwards, which was a good six months after the storm, and when the city was still only 30% repopulated. There was many lessons to be learned from the failures of maintaining the levees, and every knew where the blame lay-—and what had to be done so this didn’t happen again-—at the time it was ludicrously “Bush’s fault”, (everything was Bush’s fault at the time)....that was the big Dem talking point There has been NO follow-up that I know of to assure anyone that steps have been taken to bolster the system to make it fool-proof.
