Houston doctor treats COVID patients with anti-parasite drug ivermectin, despite FDA warnings

A Houston doctor says he is using the anti-parasite medication ivermectin with a combination of drugs to treat COVID-19 patients, despite warnings from federal health officials that it could cause serious harm when used to combat the virus.

Dr. Joseph Varon, chief medical officer at United Memorial Medical Center, on Thursday told the Houston Chronicle that he has used ivermectin since the start of the pandemic in all COVID patients. He said he administers a low dosage based on the people’s weight with a cocktail of steroids and vitamins.

My docotor is. I was in to see him a couple of weeks ago and he said....if you test positive get in here. I’m prescribing Ivermectin.

Off label use of medications to treat illnesses outside of what those medications were originally designed for is nothing new and has been around forever.

With covid all of the sudden off label use is being treated as the equivalent of leaching. Something is very wrong I don’t know if it’s stupidity, conspiracy or both. Most likely it’s both.

Less problems with using it under a qualified doctor’s supervision in my non-medical opinion.

Actually, in Vietnam we Marines took Chloroquine and Primaquine Phosphate, “Big Orange Malaria Pills”.

When I got medevaced, the kid on the hospital cot next to mine was told, “Son, you are allergic to your malaria pill. We are sending you home.”

“Yippee!” I thought, “I’m next!” No such luck. 13 days later they sent me back to my unit.

I took HCQ for years to treat my RA….still alive with no heart problems…also didn’t have to worry about getting Malaria when I worked in South America….they lie to make money, plain and simple.
