Bernie Sanders has long argued, but not proved, that his big government populism can win over voters in the largely white, rural communities that flocked to Republican Donald Trump in recent elections.
Now as the chief Senate shepherd of a $3.5 trillion budget proposal, Sanders believes he has another chance to test the theory.
The Vermont senator is embarking on two-stop swing through Trump country this weekend, promoting a budget plan packed with progressive initiatives and financed by higher taxes on top earners. He's specifically targeting two congressional districts where Trump’s vote totals increased between 2016 and 2020.

I think Bernie Sanders is politically dead now. Double loser in the primaries and last time by even bigger margin. His “Our Revolution” group flipped zero Congress seats two electrons in a row. Can’t keep losing so many times in a row and still be considered a prospect.

Sanders called for banning manufacture of more than one type of deodorant because competition was inefficient and wasteful. But he’s all for printing $3.5 trillion for pork barrel spending without having any idea what most of it is for. Ask him to explain that.

Simply put, a bunch of misguided, socialist utopia fantasy-chasing senators got themselves elected to the wrong government, the constitutionally limited power federal government, to repeatedly prove that their unaccountable federal spending fantasies don't work, such spending probably ultimately helping career Democrats to get reelected.
After all, one of the very fews powers that the states have actually expressly constitutionally given the feds to dictate domestic policy is to run the U.S. Postal Service, most federal domestic policy actually based on state powers that the very corrupt, post-17A feds are continuously stealing from the states.

In fact, most “federal” spending is based on stolen state revenues imo, such revenues uniquely associated with state powers, revenues stolen from peoples' wallets by the feds by means of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

Most senators should have gotten themselves elected to state a government whose citizens are willing to use 10th Amendment-protected state powers, as the early states had intended for those powers to be used, to repeatedly prove that Democratic socialist fantasies don't work.
The remedy for unconstitutionally big, alleged election-stealing, Democratic-pirated federal government that is oppressing everybody under its boots...
Consider that all the states can effectively “secede” from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing the following.
Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.
Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states to repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments, but also an amendment to clean up the judiciary.
