Chandler community left shaken after explosion at business leaves 4 people badly hurt (AZ print shop)

An explosion at a print shop near Ray Road and Rural rocked nearby Chandler homes Thursday morning, and fire crews worked to put out the flames.

The Chandler Fire Department says they are treating four patients, all in serious to critical condition

Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the explosion. They did say they are not looking for a suspect, and are looking into a possible underground gas leak.

As an old pressman, I can tell you, back in my day pressrooms were loaded with flammable chemicals, solvents, paper, paper dust etc. Today, I don't know, probably not so much. However I do not ever remember an explosion in a print shop. Fire? Oh yeah.
I suspect the investigators are on the right path looking into a natural gas explosion.

Maybe not all print shop as are the same,

The one I worked at, the managerial office , with “ the records and receipts”, were in a separate part of the building than the printing presses and paper and ink. Would be enlightening to see where the fire investigation finds the fire started and what got destroyed.
