An Arkansas jail and its health-care provider are facing criticisms of “medical experimentation” because the jail’s medical staff has been treating covid-19 patients with ivermectin, a drug commonly used for deworming livestock.
Washington County Justice of the Peace Eva Madison (D) said she heard reports of the practice Tuesday after a county employee visited a Karas Health Care coronavirus testing site at the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville and was prescribed ivermectin despite testing negative for the coronavirus.
Karas is one of three health-care providers accessible to employees on the county health-care plan. It operates in the jail as Karas Correctional Health.
“When this employee told me that, I thought, ‘Our sheriff has common sense. He’ll know what’s going on,’ ” Madison told The Washington Post on Wednesday. Madison said she has a good rapport with Washington County Sheriff Tim Helder but was dismayed when he confirmed her suspicions — and defended the practice.

I know a veterinarian who is in the Army Reserve and did a stint in Panama. I asked what she was doing there and she said she was deworming native Panamanians with animal grade ivermectin, and it was safe and effective.
First lie: Calling it a livestock drug. As if that is ivermectin’s main usage and the reason for its discovery/development. It’s not. It is downright dishonest to imply otherwise.
Exactly so. THe article however is experimental dangerous faux journalism.
Usual tube doses a 1250# horse.
125# PERSON should use 1/10th of tube.
Plunger has marking on it. NOT HARD TO DO.
There are still many pragmatic doctors out there, as well as those who use their own “blends” for their patients. There are also “compounding pharmacies” that put together such blends for all sorts of reasons.
(It is a good idea to see if there are any compounding pharmacies in your area.)
This is especially true when there are no pharmaceuticals that are right for a given condition, or the patient has special needs, like finding swallowing difficult or having to take a large number of pills that could be made into a liquid.
Depending on the state, doctors may be given wide latitude to experiment and use what works.

“That’s nothing new,,,,,I know several people who have a tube of Ivermectin or HCQ protocol handy in case they get the Virus, they plan to self medicate because Ivermectin has an excellent track record as does HCQ. You can buy Ivermectin at Walgreens via Goodrx for $37.00, 20 tabs 3mg each, with a prescription and HCQ, Zinc Sulfate and Azithromycin for $71.00. HCQ and Ivermectin are inexpensive and effective with a long track record.....without side effects.....”
Anyone with heart rhythm issues should go for the Ivermectin instead of the HCQ.
How much is Ivermectin at Walgreens without the goodrx discount?

“Just went mainstream in Japan.”
I saw a report about that; am looking for the link...
Has anyone noticed that India, a crowded country with 4 times the population of the US, has roughly half (or less) of the daily cases that the US does? Accounting for population that's at least an eightfold difference.
What causes that? Over-reporting here? Or under-reporting in India? Or effective prophylactic use of Ivermectin?

“Total BS article. A real hit piece.
No where does it say the drug was sourced from a feed store. Ivermectin is available on prescription as Stromectol, and is used nearly worldwide for several human conditions.
This is what was being used.

I think they’re scared spitless that the alternatives will come into use more, now that Pfizer shot is off EUA for folks 16 and older.
EUA means no other alternatives.
Now, does that mean that Moderna and J&J, that are still under EUA, can’t be under EUA anymore?
“WaPo blatant bias”
I say more likely stupidity with bias
Add to the list of “what causes that?”:
Test type; do they use the unreliable PCR test?
You really have to wonder, don’t you?
Are the “reporters” REALLY that stupid? Are they REALLY that incurious? Do they REALLY not do any independent reading or have any independent thought?
Or do they only write what their editors instruct them to write?
Good addition.
I hear water is deadly too if taken in the wrong amount.
They write what they are told to write.
IMO Real investigative journalism in MSM is dead. It is nearly all propaganda at this point.
Every now and then an actual bit of truth slips through, but the “fact checkers” (censors) come behind with mop up duty.
You can get 500ml bottles of Ivermectin injectable that contain 10mg/cc ... that’s a lot of Ivermectin.
That is equal to a small mountain of 3mg tablets.
You were able to get a bottle from Amazon but now it says unavailable.
They were 94.00 per bottle and free shipping.
It is orally active and need not be injected.
1mg=1cc so
500ml=500cc
500x10=5000
So 5000mg per bottle
Or the same as 1667 3mg tablets
There are liquid ivermectin wash solutions...these are
Not the same as injectable they are for external use only
And if taken orally would be bad!
The stuff I get is a 1% solution for INJECTION
This is very easy because the dose per pound of weight is the same for horses and humans.
A 1% solution contains 10mg per cc
1cc = 1ml of course.
Sold out.......or pulled from stock..
countries like Czechia, Slovakia and Peru, as well
