Yes. On a side note, it’s been an open secret
for YEARS in DC that Lindsey Graham is gay. Most DC reporters know it, many the Senate know it.
But until he fesses up, he is subject to blackmail.
Good God. I knew Lindsey Graham was flaming the first time years ago when I laid eyes on him. Is he really somehow thinking that people might not know?
The fact he might even think that is enough reason that he shouldn’t get any kind of security clearance due to stupidity.
This whole issue of blackmail due to personal or sexual peccadillos is an odd one. Sure, there are a lot of homosexual people out there whose status as a homosexual is above board (such as Richard Grenell, someone I think is a conservative and did good work in the government, sexual issues aside)
For people like him, having a security clearance isn’t much of an issue I guess. So the line from the homosexual lobby for decades has been to remove homosexuality as a criteria for denying a security clearance and “normalize” it. That may work for someone like Grenell, I guess, but there are a lot of people who are homosexuals who feel deep down it is shameful even if they live in someplace like Provincetown, MA people are immersed in it.
I am sure Grenell doesn’t have any kind of risk in that respect (unless he is going off the reservation and getting involved in extreme sexual things that might be discovered, a risk for anyone homosexual or not) but the cognitive dissonance for people who are ashamed of being homosexual even though the “stigma” is nearly non-existent must be a powerful incentive to deny a security clearance. I think it should be.
