Did he just advance his prediction by six months by way of “apology?” He now thinks it will be “under control” in the _spring_ of 2022 and not the _fall_ of 2022 (which would be six months after the spring)?

Keywords some control. Because he’s trying to give people an incentive to get the vaccinated. After the Spring if 100% aren’t vaccinated he can change the timeline again. He also says he does not know and only “thinks” to give himself an out.
