Californians wanting to attend events with more than 1,000 people will have to prove they have received a COVID-19 vaccine.
The California Department of Public Health announced attending indoor events with 1,000 or more guests will require either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours. The requirement previously was triggered at events with 5,000 or more attendees.
“The Delta variant has proven to be highly transmissible, making it easier to spread in large crowds where people are near each other for long periods of time,” CDPH Director Dr. Tomás J. Aragón said. “By requiring individuals to be vaccinated, or test negative for COVID-19 at large events, we are decreasing the risk of infection, hospitalization and death.”
The department also announced self-attestation to verify a person’s vaccination status no longer would be accepted.
The change will take place on Sept. 20, six days after Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (pictured above) recall election. It will remain in effect until Nov. 1. CDPH told CalMatters its chose the date to give businesses time to prepare for the change.
Newsom hinted on Tuesday the state could see mandatory water rationing in the weeks after the recall election since pleas for voluntary conservation measures fell on deaf ears.

we the people say no

This new testing surge means the Democrats are making a cut off the test kits and the want to limit information spread at gatherings.
Can a governor of ANY state do that absent legislation passed by a state legislature and signed into law?
These governors are well past the timeframe of issuing emergency orders. They’re simply assigning themselves power to override laws. They need to be charged as criminals and removed from office.
I read the other day that approx 30% of the new cases in Los Angeles are among the vaccinated. This figure continues to grow.
But don’t worry - Soylent Green isn’t people. Well, not yet.
These are rules for every but him and his friends once again.
How about if you’ve had the disease?
Interestingly, this time around, churches are exempted. Previous mandates never exempted churches. The issue of CA and its meddling into churches since 2020 made it all the way to the US Supreme Court last year, which decreed that CA could mandate this and that on churches, but not anything MORE strict than mandates on similar indoor settings.
CA had tried to be more strict with churches because of “singing”—while leaving alone similarly sized Hollywood gatherings.
Looks like CA has given up on rules for churches (other than masking, which my large church ignores). Good.
“prove they have received”
Here’s a thought: What if I ask for the vial and carry it in my pocket? Haven’t I “received” the vaccine? Fill out my card doc!
