The more I read about Ike and all the different conflicting interests he had to deal with as Supreme Allied Commander, it boggles the mind how he did it.

Ike was the Greatest American of the Twentieth Century, and it’s not even close.

When I think of Patton and Eisenhower each had their talents and in spite of differences each did what they had to do in their situations.

Patton the “combat” general and Ike the ‘political” general.
