It’s the Pentagon guys who need to be asked …. Why did we depart Bagram airbase leaving everything there for the Taliban to take over before evacuating civilians? Does not seem that anyone in the propaganda media wants to ask this question
I like to think I know the answer. It was forced on them from some intern with a spreadsheet and set of long finger nails. As much as I dislike woke general, they are not completely stupid. Closing Bagram created a single point of failure. If they didn't see that, then I really need to reassess my opinion of those at the Pentagon. That opinion is basically they have no principles and are not willing to resign in protest when forced to compromise those principles.
That’s what I don’t get. How did the Joint Chiefs come up with and approve this fiasco? And if it was handed to them, why didn’t they hand it back?
Oh, I know. The Afghan National Army was supposed to be going at it hammer and tongs with the Taliban while all the civilians took their time getting out? Well even the Joint Chiefs had to know that the ANA would collapse like a house of cards.
Half the scandal in this is how the exit was planned and rubber-stamped.
