You imply it's all over for Republicans and they should just pack it up and go home. If so, be prepared for permanent Democrat full control of government forever (or until the U.S. goes bankrupt and splinters into many smaller countries).

The candidate matters. Reagan wouldn't have lost the 2020 election (even given the desperate Democrat Party Cabal doing everything it could to steal the election).

How on earth does anyone lose to someone who President Trump himself called "the worst candidate in the history of U.S. Presidential politics?" President Reagan vs. "the worst candidate in the history of U.S. Presidential politics?" That's no contest. Reagan would have annihilated Sleepy Joe in both debates. Sleepy Joe would have walked off the debate stage wetting his Depends. No chance Reagan would have lost to Sleepy Joe.
