Republican Ryan Fazio beat Democrat Alexis Gevanter by nearly 3 points to secure a seat in the Connecticut Senate, flipping state Senate district 36 from blue to red.

“Today the voters of Greenwich, Stamford, and New Canaan sent a message loud and clear to the state Capitol in Connecticut that a change is going to come,” Fazio told supporters on Tuesday night, according to the Greenwich Time.

During the 2020 presidential election, then-Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the district by roughly 25% against then-President Donald Trump. The GOP hailed the victory as a prelude to the 2022 midterm elections.

No clue how significant this really is but if the GOP cannot win at least the House back in 2022, they should fold up their tents as a national political party.

Let me guess, Pelosi”s response:

“This just shows how important it is to pass our election bill.”

If the rank and file republican voter can't vote out every RINO traitor who took part in the Steal, then we should fold up our tents as a free country.

” ... they should fold up their tents as a national political party.”

Seems better as an unconditional statement.

Hey, I know, give the GOP both chambers and they White House and they’ll repeal and replace Obamacare! Right?

This seat had been GOP for at least 50 years, before the last election.

I see that further in the article: “The seat was a key victory for Republicans. District 36, which flipped blue in 2018, gave Democrats a supermajority in the Senate. The seat came up for special election following the resignation of former state Sen. Alex Kasser.”

So it was a gain, but maybe not as huge as it is being made out to be.
