Germany will send two light helicopters to Kabul to evacuate German nationals in Afghanistan at risk or situated in remote regions, a defence ministry's spokesperson in Berlin said Friday.
The helicopters are expected to arrive Saturday morning, the spokesperson told reporters.
German special forces using these light helicopters and are specially trained to evacuate citizens in crisis situations.
The announcement came as German Chancellor Angela Merkel flew to Moscow on Friday for talks with President Vladimir Putin on her final official visit to Russia before stepping down next month.

Funny that they have the resources to do it and yet Biden says we can’t.
Virtually everything that the German government decides upon...has to be fully agreed upon, and openly discussed by the three parties running the gov’t. I agree that this should have done without any open discussion, but they can’t function that way.

Did they announce the routes they’ll be flying, along with their attitudes and their electronic ID numbers too?
The mystery is why this country is instead telling Americans to make their own way to the airport, even as they tell them that their safety en route is not assured.
So it turns out that America can learn something from Europe. We can learn how to handle a pandemic by looking to Sweden for guidance and we can learn how to get Americans safely to an airport by looking to the British, French, and Germans for guidance.

No mystery to me. They’ve been told that ‘rescues’ are permitted, we’ve been told one of two things: Either we’ll be engaged if we try to force our way towards Americans, or Americans the already hold will be ‘in videos’ if we try anything.
They now hold ALL THE CARDS and they know just how to play them.
Maybe Americans can pay $2,000 to the Germans to take them out. 😏
But why aren't we flying to locations where Americans are located and simply picking up our citizens (the way our Allies are)?
It doesn't have to be a confrontation where we're storming out the front gate of the airport; keep the gunships grounded and use the Chinooks and the CH-53s.

What I’m trying to say is that they have PERMISSION to fly their ‘rescue’ missions from the Taliban, and we do not.
...and the reason for that is to further humiliate us.
