What is coming to light is that the Taliban created a “backdoor” to most of the Afghan Division and Corps commanders and HQ staff months ago. They were bribed to surrender their troops and did so.
You accept the Taliban gold or you get the Taliban lead.......

Why would they think the army would last at all. If our intelligence knew that the army could only last a few weeks, the Afghanistan solders for sure knew that also.
Why should they get into a battle that they knew they would lose badly?
In his interview last night, Trump pointed out that the Afghanistan soldiers were high paid mercenaries that were in the army for the money not to support some ideology.
They were certainly not going to stick around when everybody knew that they had no chance.
