The Orange County Register , a major newspaper in Southern California, has endorsed conservative talk radio host Larry Elder in the Sep. 14 recall against Gov. Gavin Newsom.
In an editorial Sunday, the Register said : As one of the state’s few right-of-center editorial pages, readers — and the state’s political leaders — no doubt expected us to come to our conclusion that voters should recall Gov. Gavin Newsom. Perhaps that explains why Newsom, whose policies we’ve often criticized, would not meet with our editorial board, despite our numerous attempts to arrange a meeting. … Pick an issue and the state’s failures are obvious. As the governor focuses on progressive visions, the state struggles with uncontrolled wildfires, water rationing, a homelessness crisis, a spike in homicides, housing unaffordability, nationally high poverty rates and failing schools. Unlike his predecessor, Newsom has reacted like a deer in the headlights in the face of these challenges. … Choosing a replacement is a tougher decision.
Unlike in the 2003 recall of Gov. Gray Davis, this year’s recall doesn’t have an Arnold Schwarzenegger on the ballot — someone with celebrity status and a wide nonpartisan appeal.

I worry for Mr. Elder’s safety. I pray he has top notch security until he’s sworn in and gets a state police security detail.
You can bet there’s a plan right now to take Mr. Elder out and blame some RWNJ upset by Mr. Elders race. Pray the Lord protects Mr. Elder.

Orange County has a lot of Conservative Asians and Asians in California see the discrimination the Left in academia wants to impose on their kids, because “too many” Asian kids graduate High School with the grades and SAT scores to succeed in getting accepted at a good college, if it weren’t that they exceed the school’s quota for “Asians”.
The Dims are losing Asian support over this issue.

Without eviscerating the DNC in California's Assembly, none of that stuff is going to change.
All the more reason to evict Newsom.
Building the border wall and large desalination facilities should be jobs one and two, imho. The evisceration thing is job zero.
'Was,' according to my sister who lives there. Leftist Rats have mostly taken the levers of government although some county functions are still barely GOP. Lots of that is demographics: folks fleeing LA to the perceived nearest oasis of sanity and bringing their insane votes. Some may be voter fraud inflating left totals. But sis thinks the former is the larger change.

The OC Register used to be Libertarian.

The Asians living in Irvine CA helped Elect and Reelect that POS DEMONCRAT Katie Porter and helped turn good old Conservative Orange County into a Leftist stronghold.

There is no such thing as “the Asians”. The facts of which you speak are only about “some” Asians as “Asians” are no more a monolithic block than are “whites”.
But discrimination in academia against Asians is ethnic discrimination as the colleges know not politics of the Asian student applying to them but merely seeks to limit how many get accepted. And the Asians know from whom in politics that is coming.

Not sure what you are implying. I was just stating the facts. The City of Irvine has a monolithic Asian Population as well as being a University Town.
