The jump in benefits, the biggest in the program’s history, comes after a revision of the initiative’s nutrition standards that supporters say will reduce hunger and better reflect how Americans eat. Under rules to be announced on Monday and put in place in October, average benefits will rise more than 25 percent from prepandemic levels. All 42 million people in the program will receive additional aid. The move does not require congressional approval, and unlike the large pandemic-era expansions, which are starting to expire, the changes are intended to last.

From the article.
Yeah, Graham and romney will put a stop to it./s
people who get food stamps should not be allowed to vote
So biden gives food stamps as he causes the death of those that helped us in Afghanistan .
God Bless our Troops.
I was responding to the 4.7 T not regarding the Food Stamps
Regarding the 4.7t budget package I was replying about? I doubt that too.
AKA vote buying.
Everything they put their hand to, fails.
Not only fails... but absolute debacle.
They feed themselves only.. and choke on the results.
Come on man..... the illegals gotta eat too.
Right...
So what are YOUR options when social security is $600 a month and they tell you medicare is now going to yank $140 of that.
Try living on $460 a month lately?
And you think I shouldn’t have a vote because of that...
I won’t say what I’m thinking...
“and they tell you medicare is now going to yank $140 of that.”
When did that happen?
That brush is broad-and that statement is judgemental, given the facts about those who get food stamps-even here in the middle of nowhere, I have neighbors who are on a fixed income due to a catastrophic injury-hopefully they will recover enough to ditch the wheelchair and return to work, but there is no guarantee-you think they don’t have the right to vote because they have to eat?
And there is also the owner of a tourist trap-just a market stall that she/he runs alone to supplement a disabled veterans’ pension or social security that is their only other income-during the scamdemic, the tourists don’t come, money doesn’t get made-so they will be limited to maybe $1900 at the most-in the middle of Bidenflation-so it is either food stamps or dog food for dinner-they can’t vote, either? Those are the people who really do deserve food stamps-and the right to vote-not their fault they are severely disabled or that the pandemic caused lost business and money-put them 1st, then throw out the illegals and welfare queens...
It has always been like that-pay into medicare until you are 65, then you are on mediscare, and about $140-$150 average is deducted from your check before it ever hits the bank-you never see it-it isn’t “free” health insurance and never was-then you pay for your secondary coverage out of your own pocket-I’m fortunate enough to have Military Tricare PPO for secondary, and I choose to live as a naturalist-but not all secondary is that good-and if you are still working, own a business, etc, you are still paying in, too-mediscare is paying for something you supposedly already bought...
