As screwed as Biden is, I wouldn’t doubt he uses this crisis to eventually recommit to maintaining a standing US army in Afghanistan.

There’s nowhere to stay in Afghanistan. Kabul and the airport are not going to last long.
Doesn’t matter what you do with soldiers there now but the ones going are there for leading people out.

HA! I said this in the AM. That I wouldn’t be surprised if Biden’s handlers created a situation to add 2,000-3,000 troops to the original 3,000. Now he has announced 5,000 troops heading to Kabul. By next week it will be 10,000.
