Evidence presented to grand jury in Durham’s Russia probe

WASHINGTON (AP) — John Durham, the federal prosecutor tapped to investigate the origins of the Russia investigation, has been presenting evidence before a grand jury as part of his probe, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.

The development is a potential sign that Durham may be mulling additional criminal charges beyond the one he brought last year against a former FBI lawyer who admitted altering a document related to a Trump campaign aide who’d been under FBI surveillance. Durham is also expected to complete a report at some point.

A Justice Department spokesman declined to comment, citing an ongoing investigation.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier Friday that Durham was presenting evidence to a grand jury and contemplating charges against some FBI employees and others outside government. A person familiar with the matter, who was not authorized to discuss it by name and spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed Durham’s use of the grand jury to The Associated Press.

One thing Durham is really good at —-mulling.

Durham?! Wow, a blast from the past. If ever I start feeling like I’m smart, I remember how taken in I was by Barr and Durham.

They fooled me good.

Great summation, first, only one criminal charge in a year, and didn't they let that FBI guy off? I love the last line, he might complete the report "at some point". What, in this century?

How many poison pills will this evidence deliberately contain?

The biggest criminal involved was Barr. He buried everything so deep you’d have to start digging in hell to have a chance of finding any evidence. Good work for Barr once he arrives.

They’ll indict a congressional page, who no longer works in government and is actually living overseas, for the whole shebang.

In another 4-5 years when Durham to retire (he is 71), I expect he will close out his investigation and write a report that no one will ever read.

Or do what Muller did, indict some Russians who we'll never here from or of again.

Whoop de do. Additional charges resulting in no punishment. As usual, the fix is in.

The blindfold has been torn off the eyes of Lady Justice.

Oh yeah. Lawyer falsified material evidence. The prosecutor let him get away with essentially denying an element of the offense in his allocution. Slap on the wrist. Gets to resume practicing law. Standard disposition for people on the left side of the aisle these days

Prediction: any report will be delayed since they don’t want to affect the 2022 election. Or 2024 or 2026 or 2028...

I bet he will go after a ton of people for unpaid parking violations. Maybe even a top notch catch of handicapped space parking violations or double parking.

Then realize the statute of limitations has run out.
