We were there so the “Military-Industrial Complex” could make billions off of the blood of our sons and daughters.
Bush needs to take some blame too. We should have bombed them to Hell, napalmed their poppy fields and then blockaded them and anyone who supported them from entering our country or doing business with any country that did business with them.
Now - Americans died for nothing!

Opium? Hashish? The International Community ensures Afghanistan gets readjusted periodically and I think it has to do with drugs and the money involved in those drugs.
Afghanistan is a nation in name only. It is multiple tribal areas with little alligence to the central government. The only cohesive force and philosophy in these tribal areas is radical Islam and thus the success of the radical Islamic Taliban.
Those that oppose the Taliban are scared sh-tless for their own life, the life of their spouse and children.

"Freedom" is a value-neutral word. The Taliban are RESTORING freedom in Afghanistan, they aren't taking it away.
Any time somebody is selling "freedom", the first and most important question is "freedom to do what?"
The Afghans want their freedom back so their millennium-long reign of savagery and barbarism may resume.
The false promise of libertarianism now is falling all over the world in the face of the victorious forces of globohomo. No individual, free to choose everything, can stand alone in the face of the panopticon being created right in front of our faces. To defeat globohomo your TRIBE has to oppose it.
Just as its a paradox (accepted by almost all here) that we must rely on criminals to deliver justice to child molesters (because a libertarian state cannot deliver justice), it is a paradox that to avoid degeneracy and restore the values of the tribe, the Afghanis must now turn to the Taliban.
But make no mistake - freedom isn't losing in Afghanistan - it's winning.
