They changed the name of the Tappan Zee Bridge to the Mario Cuomo Bridge? When did that happen?

assuming you’re not being sarcastic, the changed the name when the opened up the rebuilt bridge, which is actually very nice...granted 99% of us still call it the Tappan Zee, just like we call it the Triborough bridge rather than the RFK Bridge.

When they built the replacement bridge. The old bridge crossing The Tappan Zee was The Tappan Zee Bridge. The new, replacement bridge, was named the Mario Cuomo Bridge over the objection of pretty much every living creature in the State of New York, except Governor Senior Killer.
