Hawaii Gov. David Ige (D) on Wednesday announced that he would be signing an executive order bringing back some coronavirus restrictions in light of the surge of new delta variant cases.
"With COVID-19 cases going up, the State of Hawaiʻi is taking precautions now to avert a strain on our healthcare systems. To that end — I’ll be signing an Executive Order that will limit social gatherings, effective immediately," Ige wrote.
As per his executive order, social gatherings will be limited to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. When at restaurants, groups must be seated at least six feet apart, and professionally sponsored events must be reviewed by counties to ensure they are using safe practices.

I’m scheduled to leave for Honolulu next week to visit with my wife’s son & his family. So we are going to have to put up with 50% occupancy at restaurants while we are there. Either that or lose the cost of the airline tickets, exorbitant rental car and hotel room.
Most of them will not care, a significant portion of locals dont want tourist there in the first place.
Some of the business owners will balk, but they will be in the minority.
Hawaii ranks third among states in people with at least one Covid shot, and it is seeing a huge spike in new cases. Vermont ranks 1st in vaccinations, and it is also seeing a spike. But 99% of the media focus is on Florida.
They’re pushing for it! The sooner they wipe out the tourist industry the sooner the tech oligarchs can enjoy the entire island paradise without unwashed masses swarming in and out.
That is why we are doing no travel this year.
They just keep changing the rules—here, there and everywhere.
