Announced retirement of 12-term Democrat Representative helps GOP push toward House majority
American Thinker ^ | 08/11/2021 | Thomas Lifson

Democrats show every sign of believing that their majority in the House of Representatives will vanish after the 2022 midterms. The latest indicator also helps make that assessment come true.

Rep. Ron Kind, a 12-term Democrat Congressman representing Western Wisconsin’s Third District has announced his retirement. According to Just The News, which broke the story:

"The truth is I've run out of gas," Kind told reporters in La Crosse.

The congressman is being euphemistic. It’s no fun being on the House minority, and when members of the majority party sense a turnover, large numbers of them typically retire. Because incumbents tend to get re-elected, such retirements accelerate the looming turnover.

Politico provides some background on why Kind's retirement is likely to result in a GOP pickup.

Kind, who has spent nearly 25 years in the House, faced a closer-than-expected race in his sprawling rural Wisconsin seat last fall. He beat his GOP challenger Derrick Van Orden by less than 3 percentage points in 2020, after winning by nearly 20 points the previous cycle.

Democrats close to Kind said he acknowledged his reelection would be tougher this year, with Van Orden, a retired Navy SEAL, seeking a rematch. The GOP candidate raised a whopping $750,000 last quarter, outpacing the incumbent. Still, Democratic lawmakers and strategists had expected Kind - who serves on the coveted Ways and Means panel - to run again.

Translation: Kind dumped the party with no notice.

Isn't the author making a big assumption here? THAT THERE WILL BE NO CHEATING OF THE KIND THAT STOLE THE VICTORY FROM TRUMP IN NOV. 2020?

Meh, the GOP takes the House, great. It just means that at that point McCarthy will make more money passing the communist agenda than Pelosi.

As if it makes a difference, even when they are the minority the Rats are still in charge, thanks to the Assistant Democrats.

The bad guys have nothing to fear from a GOP takeover of the House.

In fact, they may be counting on it to lull the few Republicans who are awake back to sleep.

SNAP

That's exactly what I thought upon reading how Dems were expecting to lose the House.

Ditto for the Newsom recall in CA.

Make sure to thank a RINO for the woke clown world we now live in.

Vote out every RINO who must face a primary in 2022 and replace them with constitutional conservatives. If you are enraged about the 2020 Steal, then HOW can you say you're never going to vote again? How can you not try one last time to make these smug RINO-traitors pay for their part in the Steal? (One has to wonder).

If there were honesty in reporting…
"The truth is I've run out of ideas on how to destroy the USA. I am turning the reins over to a younger generation of Marxist revolutionaries.” Kind told reporters in La Crosse.

folks should have realized there would be election theft when the congress insisted that voting machines didn’t need to have a paper trail.
It was the set up./

I am still amazed at the voters trying to vote out Democrats and how close it was for so many Democrats, but all those voters chose Biden over Trump.

Republican down the ticket but Democrat at the top. Will wonders never cease?

No. Control of the House will be decided in a few swing districts. No inner city ballot box stuffing or servers in Germany fairy tales can save the Democrats in 2022.

12 terms, what else could he do? Get a high paying lobbyist job, collect his pension and have his life back. Nothinng wrong in folding his hand and leaving the table a winner.

Yeah, he should have a multi-million dollar nest egg by now.

RE: The same Republicans that passed 4.5 trillion in new spending? Those “Republicans “?

Let’s not be too harsh on the GOP, after all, 30 of them voted against this spending bill. Still a majority. The lesson is to vote for Republicans like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, etc., not those like Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, etc.

Ahh you made me recall the lyrics of one of my favorite songs of all time:

You said I was the master of all I surveyed
But now I’m sweeping up
The last in line in your circus parade

More than likely, he senses that mail in votes were created to steal the election for him and Joe Xiden.

Conor Lamb, a pretty boy from a Pittsburgh suburban district has made the same assessment here and is running for U.S. Senate to see if he can take his USMC veteran shtick statewide. His "experience" consists of 14 months riding a desk in the Club Med location of Okinawa processing paperwork to charge garden variety criminals among the USMC.
