GHP Management Corp. and several other companies owned by developer Geoffrey Palmer are suing the City of Los Angeles for $100 million over its eviction moratorium, saying the policy has resulted in massive losses to the firm.
The suit further alleges that the plaintiffs cannot find help from banks, who will not refinance mortgages on properties that fall under the city’s eviction moratorium.
The Biden administration and Democrats in state and local governments have cast such moratoria as measures to protect the poor, but they could hurt the poor in the long run by making it less likely that developers will build housing in Democrat-run cities, or that they will invest in low-income housing at all.
Los Angeles Times — which took care to note that Palmer is a Republican donor and Trump supporter — reports:

And only middle-class landlords will bankrupt so that all major landlords get thee full cake!
how to destroy the middle class 101
eviction moratorium
shut down “nonessential” mom & pop businesses
clear the way for a marxist takeover
These eviction moratoriums are a clear violation of the Takings clause.
Maybe even the Quartering of Troops clause...
And if they win, Who actually pays?
The poor, beleaguered Los Angeles Taxpayers. Not the crooked bastard leftists that made the rules.
Just wait until a few of these squatters decide to attempt to use “squatters rights” to take ownership, and many of our Marxist Judges ALLOW them to do so!
This is going to get real dang fun!
This is the next level and its going to come quick.
I expect the $ is going to the renters (expecting them to pay).
Then all hell is going to break loose.
It’s crazy.
The money should be going to the landlords, with interest.
Not the deadbeat “tenants.”
The “Moratorium” is illegal, wrong and unconstitutional. It forces landowners to provide an apartment, heat, light, maintenance and parking without compensation.
This “moratorium” will be extended. And landowners are forced into slavery.
The only “rental” property I would ever own in CA, MA, NY or any of these other marxist states would be the kind you rent on a weekly basis like through AirBnB or other vacation rental apps.
Eventually, they will side with the renter in all problems.
It will cost you. It is hard enough to get someone out of your property even in states like NH, TX, AL, UT & ID.
I would never own a monthly/yearly rental property in states like Mass where it is almost impossible to get a bad tenant removed from your property.
