A Look at Andrew Cuomo’s Net Worth as He Resigns from Role as New York’s Governor

Andrew Cuomo was sworn in as governor of New York in 2011 and announced August 10, 2021 that he would resign from office in 14 days following multiple allegations of sexual harassment, according to NBC News.

As governor of the great state of New York, he takes in an annual salary of $225,000 per year, according to Forbes. His salary is considered to be among the highest among his gubernatorial peers. However, most of his recent financial resources have come from the sales of his books. It has been reported he earned nearly $5 million from the sale of his most recent book, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

In fact, Cuomo has taken a great deal of his income from the sale of his three books: “Crossroads: The Future of American Politics” published in 2003, “All Things Possible: Setbacks and Success in Politics and Life,” in 2014 that yielded him $650,000 even though it sold only around 4,000 copies. In 2020, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic,” was published by Crown Publishing Group.

Cuomo’s most recent book appeared to have landed him an advance worth $4 million, but the hardcopy sales some to have peaked at less than 50,000 copies. He eventually went on to get an additional $1 million from the sale, $500,000 of which he donated to charity.

The governor does not seem to own any real estate in his name. He resides in the New York State Executive Mansion, which is located on Eagle Street in downtown Albany.

Book sales are cronyism. People would not make that much money on books. Politicians write books so their supporters with big money can buy millions of books and give them away for free. Or they just donate the books. Sometimes they are never even printed like with the Mayor of Baltimore. Book sales are just a way to funnel money to people like the Obamas and Clintons who should not have any money more than a public servant gets. But they live in 20 million dollar homes.

All of his assets should be sold. Add to that every dime that he has. All of it should be distributed to the landlords that have been devastated by his actions. Of course I guess even they would have to stand in line behind all the old people he murdered.

Since I don’t go to Yahoo, I will guess he’s worth 200 million, give or take. I know the salary and books don’t make a dent in that total, but have you ever noticed how politicians just seem to attract money? Lots and lots of money? Just a fact of nature.

“he earned nearly $5 million from the sale of his most recent book”

The fake book racket really needs to end. No one wants to read these books by politicians. It’s a blatant way of funnelling money to a corrupt politician as a reward for a contract or a favor.

The money is only a TINY part of his life.

He lives for POWER over people, particularly the people he hates. Unless he can find a way to get that power back, he’ll wind up a psychological wreck and will probably drink himself to death within 5 years.

Even Mark uses his books as a slushfund. Several years ago the Senate Conservatives Fund purchased $400K of his books to give to donors. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but the sooner you realize everyone acts in their own self interests, the better. D.C. is a huge money laundering outfit and everyone plays the game.

"The governor does not seem to own any real estate in his name. He resides in the New York State Executive Mansion, which is located on Eagle Street in downtown Albany."

I was wondering where he planned to go once he had to leave the Governor's Mansion. Up until earlier this year, he was still living in the Westchester County home he had shared with Sandra Lee. She had the house on and off the market when she couldn't get her asking price, then I guess it finally sold last year, and Cuomo ended up moving into the Albany Mansion. Maybe his Mama will let him stay with her.

Maybe he can help his brother move out of the Governor's Mansion. It would be a hoot if he ended up living in Fredo's basement.
