I'm talking about some states (and some Dims at the federal level are arguing for this) requiring odometer readings when you renew your car tags annually and paying a tax on miles driven. Ostensibly this is to make EV drivers pay their fair share of road repairs since they avoid gas taxes.
Some Dims are saying all cars should come with location trackers to help them identify who participate in truly peaceful protests the Dims don't like, instead of the "peaceful protests" that kill people and burn cities down.
Articles like this one about too much speeding will be used to justify that level of tracking and control over our mobility.

Oh, but the claim (for automatic, continuous GPS tracking) will be speeding, taxes based on distance driven, “emergency tracking of accidents and road blocking and rerouting around accidents”.
All excellent reasons, right? Add a dose of “climate change” and “reduce pollution “ during “ air quality emergencies “ ....
