In hiding and desperate, two former Afghan interpreters have urged the UK to rescue them from what they see as a Taliban death sentence because they worked for British troops.
Both men, named "N" and "W" to protect their identities, said they applied to a government scheme to be allowed to resettle in Britain, but were rejected because they had been sacked from their interpreting jobs for offences that they said they did not commit.
They said they feared for their lives and for the lives of their families as the Taliban gains ground following a decision by the United States and its allies to withdraw their troops.
"In the coming months the Taliban will get me," said N, sitting in a house in an Afghan city with his three children.
They held up posters with the words: "Help us UK gov" and "Safe our live UK".

I’m sure that if caught, they will die horrible deaths. I feel for them. I really do, because I’m going out on a limb here, but I would honestly be surprised if the UK government does anything to help them.
I’d be far more certain of no help at all from the biden regime (not President Trump, he would do something) if they had worked for the US government.
But I’m not sure if the Brits still have a conscience.
Biden will import the taliban.
There are neighboring countries made up of the same ethnicities and religion as the translators. Why do they have to come to the UK or USA?
They want to get away from the hard core muzzies? US/UK safer, though not totally safe.
It shouldn’t be a question. It should be automatic, unless they betrayed the Brits in some way.
Europe has been wide open to muslim immigrants who never did anything for Britain. These actually did serve Britain and in many cases did it under fire.
Again, it shouldn’t even be a question.
Oh I get why they want to come to the UK. My point is that if they don’t want to stand and fight, why not resettle them in Pakistan or one of the other neighboring countries (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Iran, or China). Why is the choice only between leaving them to die or bringing them to the US / UK. Remember, once the interpreters come in and eventually become citizens, they will be anchors for chain migration.
England is overrun my muzzles now. Not a very safe haven.
Sad but true.
There’s probably not many places in this i world they would be truly safe from their brothers in the religion of peace.
