Trump trashes infrastructure deal as a ‘disgrace’, warns GOP not to support it

Former President Donald Trump ripped the Senate’s $1 trillion infrastructure package Saturday as a “disgrace,” warning that he was prepared to withhold his support for any Republican that was on board with it.

“Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill will be used against the Republican Party in the upcoming elections in 2022 and 2024. It will be very hard for me to endorse anyone foolish enough to vote in favor of this deal,” Trump warned, taking aim at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on his negotiating prowess.

“If Mitch McConnell was smart, which we’ve seen no evidence of, he would use the debt ceiling card to negotiate a good infrastructure package,” Trump hissed.

Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer is pushing to pass the package on Saturday, fulfilling one of President Biden’s signature campaign promises.

That means they’ll all fall in line to support it then.

Gee, he hissed it.

It must be really bad.

Post proposed bills on line. When the public has had it in it's final version to read and 30 days has passed, then advance the bill to a floor vote.

Congress has proven time and again that they don't even read what they are voting on.

Hint....This also gives journalists something to do besides read propaganda and repeat it as news.

There are probably upwards of 15 to 20 Republican senators who will vote for it, few of which will be up for reelection in 2022. Trump’s revenge will have to be swift and effective.

...negotiate a good infrastructure package..."

What constitutes a good infrastructure package in Trump's view?

There is no holding the line, any line, with many in the GOP just as guilty as the Marxist Democrats. They will finish selling out the country and delight in its collapse as long as they can get their piece of the action and look down on us proles. Only personal, severe consequences might get them to change course, but true believers will never see anything but their delusional truth.

Trump is like a negative reverse sounding board. Stupid people do the exact opposite of what he says and are eventually shown to be the idiots they are.

The powers that be will NOT listen to Trump and will support/vote for this debacle. Their way of having a tantrum and rebelling against all who oppose it.

““If Mitch McConnell was smart, which we’ve seen no evidence of....””

I’ve never seen any evidence that McConnell is dumb, that would make him easy to deal with.

Evidence is much more clear that he does not care about the best interests of the USA or of conservatives.

What constitutes a good infrastructure package in Trump's view?

One that he gets to sign.

Contents not that important.

A good infrastructure package would be one that took the proceeds from gas taxes and directed them to fund roads and bridges.

You know, like they’re supposed to.

He never tried. "Infrastructure week" became a running joke.

Mitch is finished. All he has to do is keep the Minority Leader’s seat warm till the end of his term and retire.

He’s always been a wish washy blowhard. I doubt he’ll support anything that true Repubs want. He doesn’t have to.

And, if he really let his hair down, he’d prolly tell President Trump to go jump in the lake. He doesn’t care about the President’s opinions. Doesn’t have to.
