Data Used for Drawing US Congressional Districts to Be Released Next Week
VOA ^ | 8/5/2021 | AP

The information was supposed to be released at the end of March but was pushed back to August to give bureau statisticians more time to crunch the numbers, which came in late because of delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The postponement sent states scrambling to change their redistricting deadlines.

Alabama and Ohio sued the Census Bureau to get the redistricting data released sooner. As part of a settlement agreement with Ohio, the bureau promised to release the redistricting data no later than August 16 — a date it had previously picked for releasing the numbers in an older format.

The data will be released in a newer format by the end of September.

The redistricting numbers will show where white, Asian, Black and Hispanic communities grew over the past decade. It will also show which areas have gotten older and the number of people living in dorms and nursing homes. The data will cover geographies as small as neighborhoods and as large as states.

I am of the opinion that there can be or should be a formulaic approach to deciding districts.

Take the state population and divide by the number of seats / congressional districts. Call this Target Number or TN for short

Sort the counties by population and starting with the largest county by population, draw a circle from the county seat that would include a set of residents equal to the TN. Subtract the TN from the county’s population total and put at the bottom of the list. Move to the next most populated county. Stop when the remaining counties are below the TN.

That creates your target map but it will need adjustment. First align the district lines to county and or city boundaries, then zip codes, followed by rail road tracks, then waterways and finally streets. Each target district should not be allowed to grow or shrink by more than 2% of the TN.

The last two districts will likely be a split of the counties that do not have enough population to meet the TN.

Right now I would give 20:1 odds that it has already been corrupted by Democrats. Think about it, they have inserted corruption into *every* element of the voting process. And congressional seats and voting all go back to the Census.

It is widely known that people have been fleeing the blue states like there is no tomorrow, yet repeatedly those same states have denied that there is a substantial loss of voters, to the point where they wouldn’t lose *any* congressional seats.

Here’s the zinger: it would be extremely hard to prove any, even extreme fraud. And where would you prove it? The Census Bureau would just say they can only use the data they get from the states.

Some of this has happened before, with “data extrapolations” which invariably showed larger than realistic numbers from the most blue districts.

They were shameless enough to manufacture 80 million votes for Biden, you know.

In Massachusetts (a 100% Rat delegation for decades...except for Scott Brown)) has at least one Congressional district that has a highway as part of it. Yes,the state legislature is 95% Rat and has been for decades. Big surprise.

Part of the formula for the districts should be to have the shortest length of perimeter boundary.
