I’ve been to this festival about a half dozen times and loved it every time. From what I can remember...LOL
Unfortunately we don't arrive until the 10th. We will be in Bruges for 3 days and Brussels for 4. We would have like to stop in Ghent for the day when we leave Bruges for Brussels but because of terrorism fears there are no longer lockers at the train station to store luggage while you take a tour.

We intend to make that a priority. I'm a big fan of Absinthe
