From 1 to <30 cases may be a “2500% increase” but in a population of 34,000 that’s what? A .0009 case rate?
How many were hospitalized? Died? Did they have comorbidities?
I’m sick of the media on both sides. It’s all clickbait fear porn all the time. Almost zero truthful journalism left in the world.
1 COVID-19 death in the whole country since the middle of March. Prior to vaccination, they ran up one of the highest COVID-19 deaths per 1 million population on Earth (2,821). After? A single death in ~5 months. But of course you won't find that in the headline because that wouldn't build fear.
Ok, the numbers you present definitely put things in perspective. However, given the Population of Gibraltar is almost FULLY VACCINATED, one issue of interest is... how are they still getting infected?
Did the infections come from unvaccinated residents or visitors? Or did it come from the vaccinated population?
Also, how severe are these infections? Did they discover this because of continuous testing? Or did they discover this because scores of infected people developed symptoms?
Inquiring minds want to know.
