known to his leadership for showing disdain toward the NavyYou've just narrowed it down to about 90% of all E4 and below.
Junior Sailors in the Navy bitch about the Navy. It's what they do.

Why exactly did his “leadership” allow a sailor known for his disdain for the Navy to remain in the Navy?If you kicked out every Junior Sailor that said, "The Navy sucks! I hate the Navy!" there wouldn't be anyone left.
Junior Sailors bitch about the Navy pretty much constantly (unless there's a camera in front of their face. They're not that dumb).

Find me a sailor who didn’t hate the Navy. And I did 22 years!
Certainly there is no excuse and he needs to never breathe air as a free man again. But a bitching sailor is a happy sailor.

Have to wait and see what comes out from the investigation. This is why the FBI and other three letter agencies fear the lone wolf attacker far more than any organized militia or anti-government group. Plots and terrorist plans requiring multiple people leads to a better chance of mistakes leading to exposure or someone getting cold feet. Lone wolf attackers are unpredictable, and nearly impossible to stop. I doubt anyone in a senior position will be held accountable.

He should be put in front of a firing squad.

Crap you beat me. I worried more about the guys who said they loved the Navy. THEY were the sketchy psychos!

Does that mean that all junior sailors in the Navy are "known to their leadership for their disdain for the Navy"? Or 90% of them anyway?
I get from what you and other former Navy in this post have said that everyone in the Navy bitches about the Navy. But this guy's bitching or whatever was apparently special enough to be recognized by his "leadership". I'd like to know what they could have done to present the Navy from sticking me and other taxpayers with a $3 billion bill.

I’m guessing lgbtq after being dissed from the cis gender community on Facebook and Twitter. Or roid rage?
Did any of what I just typed be understood in the real world?

At least this sailor didn’t ram the Bonhomme Richard into a cargo ship or another Navy vessel.
This sailor will now join the ranks of others before him who have burned down their ships. Think “USS Oriskany.”

Just imagine what a bomb or a torpedo would have done.
It would seem to take a special kind of incompetence to make a big steel ship that flammable.

A couple of things:
1. If this guy is charged and found guilty, he will probably spend the rest of his life in a military prison.
2. Not sure what they mean by “showing disdain”. However, lots of enlisted are unhappy for one reason or another and gripe about it. That does not mean they go out and cause this kind of damage. In fact, it typically harmless. Until more details come out, I am willing to withhold judgement.
